On August 29, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other five departments jointly issued an action plan to accelerate the green and low-carbon innovative development of power equipment. The action plan calls for accelerating the development of clean and low-carbon power generation equipment. We will promote the upgrading of energy conservation and carbon reduction, flexibility, and heating upgrading of coal and power supply equipment. We will accelerate the research and development of gas turbines. We will promote the wide-load transformation of hydropower units, accelerate the development and application of variable-speed pumped storage and offshore pumped storage equipment, and accelerate the research on key technologies of high-head impact hydropower units. Further accelerate the mass development of third-generation nuclear power, and accelerate the research and application of fourth-generation nuclear power equipment. We will promote the development of integrated scenery and storage equipment, and promote the research and development of network-type new energy power generation equipment. Accelerate the development and application of biomass energy equipment, Marine energy, geothermal energy and other development and utilization equipment. We will work hard to overcome technologies and equipment for hydrogen production from renewable energy sources.

In terms of coal and power, on the supply side, the National Energy Administration said that according to the dispatch, from August 1 to 17, the national coal output was 210 million tons, with the average daily output of 12.33 million tons, up 19.4 percent year on year. The average daily coal supply of unified power plants is 8 million tons, and the coal storage of power plants is stable above 170 million tons, strongly supporting the steady supply of coal power generating units, and providing a solid and reliable guarantee for economic development and people's livelihood. On the demand side, many places still maintain high temperature recently, the long period of high temperature and drought weather led to seriously less water in some basins, some main hydropower plants bottom, thermal power demand increased, from August 1 to 14, the national daily consumption of coal is 8.16 million tons, up 15% over the same period of last year. Galaxy Securities believes that in the end of August, some parts of the south will continue to be high temperature, and the demand for thermal coal will still be high, and the power coal prices are expected to remain stable in the short term.

In terms of hydropower, the average annual precipitation in Sichuan, which was previously severely affected by high temperatures, is half less than in previous years, and has recently eased. According to the State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company, as the temperature drops and rain falls in many parts of the province. As of 12 noon on The 28, the general industrial and commercial power consumption in Sichuan province has been restored, in addition to high-load energy enterprises, large industrial power consumption is gradually recovering. After the subsequent continuous improvement of water supply, all large industries will return to normal electricity consumption. Sichuan's daily hydropower generation capacity was 460 million kilowatt-hours on Monday, up 9.5 percent from the previous low, it said. As of 12 noon on The 28, general industrial and commercial electricity consumption in Sichuan province has been restored, in addition to the high load energy industry, large industrial electricity consumption is gradually restored.

Since the beginning of summer this year, the country has generally high temperature, the demand for electricity has been rising, many places appear power supply tension, the power load has hit a record high. Demand for installed power has also risen rapidly. It is reported that on August 19, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics from January to July. By the end of July, China's installed power generation capacity was about 2.46 billion kilowatts, up 8.0 percent year on year. Of this, the installed capacity of wind power was about 340 million kW, up 17.2% year on year; solar power about 340 million kW, up 26.7% year on year; thermal power about 1.309 billion kW, up 2.8% year on year, and nuclear power power about 55.53 million kW, up 4.3% year on year.
