Valve-regulated lead-acid batteries are also called "maintenance-free batteries". Because of their convenience, they have been widely used in the electric power and post and telecommunications sectors in recent years. However, because they don’t understand the characteristics of valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, they are often used for several years. It was scrapped, causing great losses to the enterprise.


First of all, it is wrong to regard "maintenance-free batteries" as maintenance-free. "Maintenance-free batteries" are just the manufacturer's advertising language. Valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries should pay attention to the temperature of the battery during use, and observe the floating charge voltage at any time. If the charging device does not have the function of compensating the temperature, it should be based on the temperature rise by 1 ℃, and the floating charge voltage of each single battery Decrease 3mV for correction.


Since the internal conditions of VRLA batteries cannot be observed, discharge tests should be performed on them regularly during use to detect the capacity of the battery and avoid the failure of a backup power supply due to its capacity drop. It should be noted that the battery should not be over-discharged when discharging, and the battery must be recharged within 12h after discharge, otherwise it will cause permanent damage to the battery.


Pay attention to the capacity and battery type of the valve-regulated lead-acid battery. The same two sets of 100Ah220V Japanese Yuasa batteries, the actual situation is: a set of 100Ah, 36 batteries, 10 hours rate of 100Ah, 1 hour rate of 60Ah, 15 years of life; Another set of 100Ah, 18 batteries, 20 hours rate of 100Ah, 1 hour rate of 56Ah, 3 years of life. It can be seen that there is a difference in capacity and life span, and the difference in price is actually 4 to 5 times.
